Everything you need for successful airfoil process engineering
Standard CAD/CAM systems are not built for the specific demands of turbine blade and blisk machining. Turbosoft plus closes that gap with dedicated geometry tools, purpose-built machining strategies, and integrated process engineering modules developed exclusively for airfoil production. Continuously updated and supported directly by LIECHTI's development team.
Highlights
Optimized toolpaths and cutting force analysis reduce machining time by more than 30%, keeping profile feed rates higher around critical leading and trailing edges.
CAD geometry modules
CAD airfoil geometries typically consist of multiple faces with continuity problems that complicate programming and increase calculation time. The Blade Builder module generates an optimized single-face geometry from multiple input faces or section curves, enabling smooth operations across the full blade, faster strategy calculation, and export as Parasolid for use in CMM or other CAD systems.
Poor curvature profiles in turbine blade CAD geometries cause unnecessary axis reversals, increased polishing effort, and higher tool wear. The Blade Optimization module smoothens blade sections with a definable maximum contour deviation, eliminates unwanted reversal points, and improves surface quality at leading and trailing edges. Developed exclusively by LIECHTI Engineering.
Advanced milling strategies for blisk and IBR production
Turbosoft plus offers a comprehensive library of purpose-built milling strategies for blisk and IBR machining, continuously expanded with each software release. The latest version introduces three new strategies.
Integrated tools for process optimization
TS+ Dynamics — FRF and Stability AnalysisMachine dynamics are often overlooked in airfoil production, causing vibrations, poor surface quality, and high tool costs. The Dynamics module enables tap testing with accelerometers, frequency response function analysis, and stability lobe calculation for specific materials and tools, delivering quieter and more stable machining processes with extended tool life and reduced process development time.
TS+ Cutting Force OptimizationToolpaths that are not optimized for chip load increase tool wear, process instability, and scrap rates. The integrated cutting force engine simulates and optimizes engagement and forces in a single click, with an extensive material library and the ability to characterize new materials, delivering improved tool lifetime, process robustness, and reduced cycle times without external optimization software.
TS+ Kinematic AnalysisSurface quality and accuracy issues are difficult to diagnose without a direct link back to the CAD model. The Kinematic Analysis module simulates traced machine paths against the current stock and tool, visualizes speed, acceleration, jerk, and other axis parameters as color gradients, and provides dedicated tools for efficient root cause analysis, reducing process development time and the number of rejects.
TS+ Dynamics DAQ — Chatter SuppressionThe Data Acquisition module captures process data from microphones and accelerometers during production, identifies harmonics and chatter frequencies, and provides a chatter suppression tool to eliminate vibration at the source. The result is quieter machining, improved surface quality, and reduced spindle and machine wear.
